In the early morning hours of December 31st, Georgia’s fierce spirit flew away peacefully from her home, surrounded by the loving care of her children. A strong-willed, independent and loving mother and grandmother, who now joins her beloved husband Constantine in eternity. Georgia was a beautiful woman to the end, whose intense zest for life, brightness and infectious laughter would electrify the room. Her honesty, deep loyalty and love of music and dance drew family and friends to her wherever she went.
Georgia is survived by her daughter’s Marina (Peter), Linda (Richard), son Angelo (Antonia), grandchildren Deanna, Rebecca, Kosta, Georgia and Bobby, her brother George (Toula) and many nieces, nephews and relatives in Canada and Greece.
Georgia was born in Tripoli, Greece to Ligeri and Fotis in 1935, but spent her youth and early adulthood in Athens. She came to Canada to join her brothers in Alberta where she met their friend Constantine whom she later married. They moved to Vancouver and created their family. Working as a seamstress of drapery and raising her three young children, she supported her husband’s dreams of building a strong and comfortable life for his family.
She loved spending the summer months in Greece, in her cherished home in Volos. Swimming in clear blue, warmed by the sun and enjoying the company and laughter of her husband’s large family who doted on her and whom she adored.
Georgia was larger than life. She will be deeply missed. Our love for her will live forever in our hearts.
