Ian passed away peacefully at the age of 88, during his last days he was surrounded by his family. Survived by his loving wife Maureen of 61 years, daughters Michele (Paul), Charlene (Spencer), grandchildren Brittany, Connor, Brooke.
He had a long and interesting career with Canadian Pacific Airlines starting in 1955, as a passenger agent in Fort McMurray. In 1958 he met Maureen, a flight attendant who became his wife. He retired as a Director of Sales and Service for the Pacific/Latin America regions in 1989.
He also served on the Board of Directors for Pacific Area Travel Association for 12 years.
In retirement, Ian and Maureen continued to travel the globe and they became enthusiastic fans of cruise ship travel, spring breaks were spent in Palm Desert.
Ian enjoyed sport fishing and the highlight was landing a 53 lb Spring Salmon in Haida Gwaii.
His favorite past time was watching hockey and football.
His family was very important to him, helping whenever needed. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humour, his kindness and generosity will be greatly missed.
Due to a stroke, Ian resided comfortably at Amica Lions Gate in his final years. Our family extends their heartfelt thanks and deepest gratitude for the kindness and compassionate care he had received from Dr. N. Barre, care staff at Amica and to the Doctors and Nurses in the Covid Ward at Lions Gate Hospital.
