July 16, 1941-April 13, 2017
Judy passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones at Richmond Rotary Hospice after suffering a heart attack.
Judy was born in Penticton and was raised both in Kelowna and Vancouver before settling in Kamloops for her senior year of high school. She put down roots in the sunny Interior, making lifelong friends and meeting and marrying Dennis Hunter, her first true love.
She will be forever known as "Mrs. Hunter” the dance teacher to thousands of children who passed through her successful dance school for close to 30 years.
Predeceased by Dennis in 1995, Judy re-settled in West Vancouver where she met her second true love, George Attridge. They married and lived happily for more than 15 years in their home overlooking the sea. Their door was always open to family and friends, and Judy’s generosity of spirit and time will never be forgotten.
They recently moved to Tsawwassen Springs and were just beginning to enjoy the change in lifestyle and make new friends.
Judy loved her close family and her dear friends and the magic that dance created for her never faded. Neither did her interest in life and all it had to offer or her sense of how funny it can be.
Judy is survived by her husband, George, son Brock (Frances Millerd), daughter Stacey (Jacob Peters), her stepdaughters Kali and Kimberlee and her beloved granddaughter, Zoe Hunter. She also leaves behind her sister, Susan Nicholson (Jamie Thomson). Her parents, Babe and Ann Nicholson predeceased her.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 23rd at the Tsawwassen Springs golf club at 2pm. Everyone is welcome.
Special thanks to the staff at Richmond General Hospital for all their care over the past three weeks.
Arrangements under the direction of Vancouver Memorial Services and Crematorium, Vancouver, BC.
