Kit Yee Liu

Karin was born in Hong Kong on September 19, 1949 where it was during the post war era with life was a struggle. When Karin was growing up, she and her original family battled through adversities together during a period where Hong Kong was experiencing a lot of social and economic issues.

Karin met her husband Kim Yung (Jimmy) Wong at work in 1968. They realized they are living on the same street. They decided to get married in 1973 after they were dating each other for a few years.

Karin gave birth to Yuen Ying (Cathy) Wong (Daughter) and Tsz Kit (Sam) Wong (Younger Son). She became a full time mother after giving birth to her younger son.

Karin immigrated to Canada with her family in 1992 and started her small restaurant business in 1997. She retired in 2017.

In everyone’s eyes, Karin can be seen as a fighter, a carer, and a true friend. She was also seen as a person with tremendous skill in cooking where many would seek for her signature dishes such as mango pudding and radish white cake.

Her personal favourite is Hong Kong milk tea which she would demand for it even she was heading towards the end of her life.

She was resilient and optimistic throughout her life, facing every challenge with a smile and unwavering courage. A funeral service will be held at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home (5390 Fraser St, Vancouver, BC) on October 28, 2025 at 10 am.

廖潔儀女士在家人陪伴下，於二零二五年十月十五日晚上，與癌症搏鬥半年後在溫哥華眾合醫院去世，享年七十六歲。

廖女士生於一九四九年九月十九日，在一個經歷戰後與生活艱難的香港。廖女士在成長時期，香港係一個充滿社會與經濟問題的城市，廖女士當時與原生家庭一同面對各樣挑戰。

廖女士同丈夫黃劍勇先生在一九六八年於工作認識，兩人交往幾年後在一九七三年結婚。

廖女士與丈夫育有一對兒女，大女兒叫黃琬瑩，小兒子叫黃子傑，廖女士在小兒子出世後開始作為全職母親照顧兩名子女。

廖女士與家人於一九九二年六月從香港移民到加拿大，並於一九九七年開始做小型飲食生意，二零一七年退休。

在各人眼中，廖女士係一個堅毅，關懷、和真誠的人。廚藝亦被眾人認可，特別是廖女士的芒果布甸和蘿白糕 深受大家喜愛。

作爲一個香港人，港式奶茶絕對係廖女士的心頭好，仲使進入人生旅程的尾聲，奶茶都是不可或缺。

廖女士一生堅毅樂觀， 無論面對任何挑戰， 都以微笑和勇氣走過。她的喪禮將會於二零二五年十月二十八日上午十時在Fraser街Hamilton Harron Funeral Home (5390 Fraser St, Vancouver, BC)舉行。

A visitation will be held at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, located at 5390 Fraser Street, Vancouver, BC, V5W 2Z1, Canada, on October 27, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place at the same venue on October 28, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
