Lily was born on Oct 12, 1938 in China. After graduating from Huazhong Teachers College with a degree in Literature, Lily became a teacher in 16th Secondary School of Wuhan. Her dedication to education was only matched by her compassion for her students who have now blossomed into the brightest flowers of modern China. Since arriving in Canada in 1979, Lily like many first-generation immigrants performed many low skilled jobs, but she never stopped making new friends, helping fellow immigrants, standing up for principle and against wrongdoing at the workplace. In her retirement, Lily indulged in her favorite pastime – Mahjong with vigor. Her winning attitude, engaging personality, exuberant outlook on life and humorous conversation, radiated warmth and energy to everyone around her. Her life was a gift to us all and will be forever missed.
Lily is survived by Mark - her loving husband of more than 50 years, son Richard and Robert, daughter-in-law Nina and Vanessa, and grandchildren Nickolas, Tyler, and Griffin.
