Maria Emilia Peña Abcejo, 63 years old, a beloved wife, mother and friend, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025 at Langley Hospice Residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 23, 1962, in Lucena City, Province of Quezon, Philippines, to Angelo Q. Peña and Luningning A. Veleña.
Maria, nickname Leah shared 41 amazing and wonderful years of marriage with her devoted husband Chito. They built a beautiful and memorable life, raising a daughter Frannily married to Leonard Ycaro. She was a proud grandmother to Olivia.
She was kind and dedicated person. During her younger years, she loved to sing, play guitar and piano, reading books and gardening. She made several artistic cross stitches.
A celebration of Maria’s life will be held on January 3, 2026, at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, 5390 Fraser St. Vancouver, BC.
