Marie Lum

Marie was born on December 16, 1934 in Guangdong, China, and was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, wife and friend.

In 1955, Marie married Ernest Lum in Hong Kong, and shortly after emigrated to Canada, settling in Vancouver. Marie was extremely family devoted, never forgetting a family member’s birthday. She found joy in simple pleasures such as going on leisurely trips around Stanley Park and Spanish Banks with her family, having home cooked family dinners or dining out. She handled her later years with determined strength and resilience, and with much dignity and grace.

A woman of deep faith, Marie was a dedicated member of her local church. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity, her quiet, gentle, modest nature and her exquisite sense of taste.

She is survived by her 5 children, 4 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, sister-in-law and brother-in-law. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion and faith. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed.
