Nathaniel Damian Sebastian Whonnock passed away suddenly on April 9, 2026, at the age of 24. Born on April 28, 2001, in Vancouver, British Columbia, he was the beloved son of Rachael Whonnock and Ivan Johnson, and a cherished brother to Christine, Dakota, and Isaiah. From a young age, Nathaniel found joy in family—whether at the beach, the park, or gathered for meals and celebrations at his grandmother’s home.
Nathaniel was a gentle and kind person, and he valued close connections. He enjoyed spending time with loved ones, going out for coffee or pho, listening to music, and making memories during spring and summer days. He shared a special bond with his mother, filled with laughter, love, and countless shared moments. Nathaniel and his family were so proud to celebrate his graduation with him. He also had a natural talent for fixing things, especially TVs and phones, and worked at a fitness centre and Cactus Club.
Throughout his life, Nathaniel faced deep loss with the passing of his sisters, Dakota and Christine, whom he loved dearly. Despite this, he continued to carry himself with quiet strength, compassion, and warmth. He was someone who listened, who cared deeply, and who made those around him feel understood and valued.
Nathaniel will be forever missed by his family and friends. His memory will live on in the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the simple, meaningful moments he cherished.
