He leaves behind him on this side his wife of 55 years, Jean Alison Pemberton, his children David, Diana, Dana (Colleen), and Dawn, his grandson Nathan, his sister Hyacinth (Raymond) and their family, his beloved nieces and nephews and their families in Sacramento and Switzerland, and a history of friendship with more people than could ever be listed here. Neville was predeceased by his brother Anderson, his sisters Agnetha, Daisy, and Lillian, and his mother Alvina.
Born in Nevis, St Kitts on November 21st, 1930, his travels took him to England to become a pilot with the Royal Air Force, to multiple locations while he served, and to the Royal Canadian Air Force and Canada.
He was very active in the local cricket community, and his life in Canada focused for many years on boxing (which he excelled at in the military), and his time as a welder with the Boilermakers. He never lost his love for dancing, and his love for music extended to his entire family, with a wife who sings in the church choir, his children and grandson all musicians and singers.
Neville was a man who learned what he liked, what he loved, and what he was good at, and then stuck to it, whether it was decades of cricket, of boxing, of music, or of reaching out to be a helping hand to many. He always had a story ready and an opinion of what was best. He was ‘Pops’ to more people than just his own children. He kept his accent to the end, along with his love for home: the home he grew up in, the home he found in the military and in England, and the home that he and his family created together.
Rest in peace, Pops. We will miss you.
