Normie at Northwood around 2014 on a classic sunny Vancouver day, doing what he loved to do.

I met Norm at White spot on Broadway back in the early 90’s , so many good memories of beach parties, softball games against other units, poker games, and many house parties, i didn’t like working with him in the kitchen sometimes, he was always hard on me, i believed he did not like me, realized later that he just cared. Really thankful for all those good memories and who he was.

…I was shocked when I first heard about the tragedy…Norm was a great friend back in our White Spot days…we worked together side by side and he was always supportive.
I remember when he travelled to Europe in the late 80s for almost a year, he brought me a souvenir t-shirt from Amsterdam…
He was a great coworker…and always there to give a helping hand…after work we always had a great time  unwinding at The Sidedoor, sometimes at Kits Pub. And I’ll never forget when he got his priced possession then…his Z28.

To Norm beloved wife and family,

I met Norm in 2017.  It was at "Good Friends" restaurant in Hope and he lived up to the name of the place immediately.  It was my first Ravioli Cup and Norm was sitting next to Dushko when I walked in.  Within the first 5 minutes he gave me a nickname - "Big Sky".. and the rest is history.

I would see Norm at least twice a year since that first encounter - either at the Ravioli cup or a warm up round before.  He was a giant - prepared the best meals for us during our stay, delegated tasks and taught me whenever I asked a question.   He was always light hearted and full of laughter.  He was affectionate and kind and a true leader.   

Most of my memories revolve around golf and I remember playing Morgan Creek with him and he had a 260yrd shot to the green over water.   I asked him "whats the play Norm".. He told me "put it on the green".   And he launched this shot from the edge of the fairway near the water right on the green - that massive back swing connected and then that laugh once it landed.  Will never forget that golf shot .. and I have seen plenty of shots in my life..

The joy Norm gave us and our Ravioli cup group for the 4-5 days a year was super special -  we feel his loss.  I cant imagine the hole he leaves in the Tse family.

May you rest in peace Norm - the world is much more full after you left it than it was before you came into it... We will miss you every year from now on.

So sorry to hear of Norm's sudden passing. I was introduced to Norm 3 years ago when he joined us on our annual golf trip that we held in Phoenix that year. He was a perfect fit for our group and became part of our golfing group ever since. I'm going to miss his huge smile and boisterous laugh. He was always one to lighten the mood and cheer anyone up. I feel very privileged that I got to know Norm over the past 3 years.

It's hard sharing a condolence about someone that i admired, respected and loved so much.  I met Norm through his brother Mike and we instantly became friends.  Often joking about the nomenclature Norm and Cliff from Cheers.  Norm's personality, smile and laugh were infectious.   If you were his friend he treated you like gold.  He loved his family whole heartedly often shedding a wet eyes talking about them.  He loved Juliette and never took her for granted.  I remember him once remarking how Juliette made his life so easy and so fulfilling.  It struck a chord with me because in the truest sense that's what partnership is all about. Norm had it all figured out!   
Norm loved, and lived life to the fullest.  I will miss so many things about you Norm (too many to mention) but at the same time I'm grateful for the quality time we spent together and I will hold that in my heart. Thank you!  Our deepest condolences  to Juliette, Maria, Mike, Ron, Sarah, Ella, and Lennon.

So sad to hear of his passing. Norm and I hung out a lot in high school and after. He worked at White Spot at the time and would include me in social events such as tag football or a softball game. We enjoyed many a game of back gammon and  the mixed tapes he use to make. His family would have me over for his mom’s delicious meals. He always made me laugh and I have many fond memories of a true friend. My most sincere condolences to his  mother, wife , brothers and close family and friends. Norm and I were best friends in grades 6 and 7 at Westridge. We played soccer together for Cliff Ave (those orange and black uniforms!). He was a leader. Fearless. I was fast. He was faster. I was a good soccer player. He was better. His home was always open and welcoming, with great food. And his mom always (mostly) kept us in line. When I think of that time, the cover of Billy Joel's Glass Houses pops into my head. I haven't spoken to him for decades, but in the back of my mind I always thought I'd see him again. My heart is heavy, but it's heartening to read all the kind things people are writing about him. Sounds like everyone saw the same light in Norm. Sounds like he grew into the kind of man we all imagined he would.

Lots of memories working with Norm at White Spot over the years. He was an awesome guy. So many fun times - softball, poker parties too many to name.  He is gone to soon.

I never had chance to know Norm pretty well as i work in the kitchen back of the house, but all i can remember is him asking for a cup of a rice for his breakfast every morning at work and every Saturday and Sunday, he is the first one from the front of the house to come into kitchen and greet everyone in the kitchen saying ,” Hello Everyone” with the smile in his face.
Though the memory of him is very short in my mind but guess what, it is precious!!!
I carry so much sorrow in my heart and soul as this is a huge loss. A Heartfelt Condolences to his beloved family and friends as they are going through deep pain of loosing him.

Norm had an infectious laugh that I will always remember. Gone so soon still can’t believe he has left us. I first met and worked with Norm when I was 17 and saw him every Labour Day after that as part of the NFFL Football pool. Norm was a caring and giving individual either hosting us every year or treating my wife and I so well when we came into Joe Fortes. My condolences to all the Tse Family and friends. #Steelernation
