Raised in the Kamloops area, she moved to Mission in her teens.
After graduating from St Paul’s Hospital (1954) Pat pursued a long career in nursing. She worked with Dr. John Osborne, Dr. Max Walters and others to establish the first Cardiac Catheter lab in BC at VGH in the early 1960’s. Highly respected by her colleagues she continued there as a Supervisor until her retirement in 1986.
Pat was a loving wife, mother, Gran and Great Gran. Her home, the House on the Hill, was a welcome place for her large extended family, friends, and colleagues. She loved to cook and there was always room for one more at her table. She enjoyed travel, and went on many trips in Canada and around the world.
Pat is survived and will be dearly missed by her children Penny (Peter), Candice (Ian), Robert (Barb), Heidi (Johanna) and daughter-in-law Lynda (Keary); grandchildren Josh (Laura), Aidan (Heather), Caitlin (Drew), Fraser (Kathryn), Matt, Graeme, Hillary and Brady; and great- grandchildren Hugh, Magnolia, Elliott, Theo and Marin. Predeceased by loving husband Andrew, "Scotty," and her beloved son Andy. Pat will be lovingly remembered by her extended family and friends.
Pat was always up for an adventure and a party. She attended our performances, graduations, weddings and retirements; cheered us on at countless sporting events, joined us at festivals and political protests; and crossed continents and oceans to celebrate reunions, milestones, and trips of a lifetime. Her annual Open House on Boxing Day was legendary – an event not to be missed. We are grateful for the fun and happy times she shared with all of us.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be arranged at a future date, when it is safe for family and friends to gather. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Union Gospel Mission or a charity of your choice.
