It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Thomas Sauer, a beloved husband, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully on February 6, 2025, in New Westminster, BC, following a lengthy stay at Royal Columbian Hospital. Peter was born on July 23, 1944, in Vancouver, where he lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.
Peter is survived by his devoted wife, Judy, and his beloved brother, Gordon (Lorill), as well as an extended family. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Bessie and Sam, who instilled in him the values of kindness and empathy that he carried throughout his life.
A man of many passions, Peter had a big heart that was always looking out for others, ready to lend a helping hand or an ear to listen. He found joy in the simple things—whether it was his love for old trucks, embarking on adventurous road trips, or exploring the great outdoors. Peter found delight in gathering various spontaneous treasures—the oddities and curiosities of life that reminded us all to embrace the journey. His lively stories and warm sense of humor touched the hearts of everyone who knew him, creating lasting memories that will continue to bring smiles amidst the tears.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the nurses, doctors, care aides, and support staff at Royal Columbian Hospital whose unwavering dedication provided comfort and care during his final days.
Peter may have departed this world, but he will forever live on in our hearts and memories. Rest in peace, dear Peter. Your journey continues in our hearts as we remember your warmth, humor, and the adventures we shared.
