It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ms. Renata Knezevic, a cherished mother, friend, and community member, who left us on January 21st, 2024, in Vancouver, British Columbia, at the age of 75.
Born on October 26th, 1948, in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Renata's journey through life was marked by resilience, adventure, and an unwavering love for her family. Her life was a testament to the strength of the human spirit, from her early years in post-war Europe to her later life in Canada.
Renata's legacy is carried on by her loving children Marko, Branko (Candace), Sara (Miodrag), and Neven (Irene), grandchildren Max, Adrian, Julian, Florian, Kenna, and Dewi Lestari, alongside many family members and friends who were touched by her kindness, her courage, and her boundless optimism. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton Karvazy and Ljerka Andrijević, along with her sister, Aneli Pejković.
Renata's life was full of love for the natural world, from the smallest lizard to the grandest mountain peaks, which she often explored with zeal. A proud mountaineer, a dedicated worker, and a loving mother, her spirit of adventure and her capacity for love knew no bounds.
The family would like to thank the Roundhouse Coop members for all the help and care they provided to Renata until the very end, as well as for all the help they provided to her children in the days immediately following her passing. Your help knows no bounds and it will always be greatly appreciated. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!
Arrangements have been entrusted to Glenhaven Memorial Funeral Home in Vancouver, BC. We would like to extend our thanks to Emma Graveson and the rest of the Funeral Home for making a difficult process easier. You handled everything with such care and compassion, and we thank you for that. In lieu of flowers, performing an act of kindness in Renata’s memory or a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
As we bid farewell to Renata, we invite you to join us in celebrating her remarkable life and the memories we shared with her.
