Steve Ambrus Zsapka

March 20, 1948 – February 21, 2024

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness, that we announce the passing of Steve. He left us on February 21, 2024 at age 75. He departed peacefully, knowing he was loved by family and friends.

Steve, born on March 20, 1948 in Hungary, was a gentle giant whose presence touched the lives of many. He lived a life filled with love and countless moments of joy married to the love of his life, Lesley, for the past twenty-seven years.

Steve will be remembered for his athleticism at an early age. He graduated from Eric Hamber High School. Steve was a Meraloma, an SFU Thunderbird and finished his football career with the B.C Lions.

Steve moved on to a very long and passionate career working in Film and TV as a longtime member of the Teamsters Local 155. In retirement, he enjoyed being in Osoyoos with his wife Lesley, enjoying many fun times in the sun with his many friends.

He is survived by his wife, Lesley, his step daughter, Stephanie and her partner Joe, step grandson, Charles and his fiancee, Francesca.

Steve’s Celebration of Life will be held at the West Point Grey Legion, #142, located at 3679 West Broadway in Vancouver, on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00. Please come and share your stories and memories.
