Susan Chinn

Susan Chinn, a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on November 29th, 2025 at the age of 93. She is survived by her 6 children: Valerie (Bruce), Calvin (Kay), Barbara (Garry), Linda (Michael), Marilyn (Pierre), Douglas, 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Susan loved to get together with family and friends whether it was travelling to exotic destinations or just an evening at home dancing, playing mahjong, or Karaoke. Singing Chinese opera, sometimes in full costume, was something she delighted in. Often times when the weather was nice, you would find her on the back deck practicing her tai chi.

She would try and keep herself active with walks up and down her street and occasional games of badminton, ping pong, and Bocce. Win or lose, she always had a smile for everyone.

She will be greatly missed. A special thank you to all who cared for Susan and filled her last years with dignity, kindness and joy.

A celebration of Susan’s life will begin at 12:30 pm on December 17th, 2025 at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, 1835 East Hastings Street in Vancouver. Burial will be at 2:30 pm at Forest Lawn, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue in Burnaby. A reception will be be held at 4:30 pm at the Pink Pearl Restaurant at 1132 East Hastings Street, Vancouver.

Donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society in lieu of flowers.
