Dad was born in Winnipeg; one of seven kids. He joined the Merchant Navy during the War and sailed the world in service of his country. He met mom after the War on the west bound train to Vancouver. They married and settled there raising two boys, Russell and Douglas. He worked at Western Canada Steel and later at Eaton’s. He spent his last year at George Derby Care Center in Burnaby.
Dad was very generous and a good father, husband and friend. He loved people, long walks and drives, sports, running, laughing and reading. We miss you and love you. Dad, we are so proud of you and know you are proud of us. You are in our hearts forever.
Dad is survived by sons Russell and Douglas and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Dad’s life will be held in the Spring. T.B.A
