‘Vinny’

It is with great sadness we advise of the passing of a treasured longshoreman Vincent Cedric Point Jr. Vinny, as he was commonly known as, was born to his parents Vincent Cedric Sr. & Gloria Jean Point (nee Nahanee) on March 21, 1962 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, B.C. Vinny grew up in East Vancouver. He attended Admiral Seymour Elementary, Lord Nelson Elementary, and Templeton Highschool. His first job was at McDonald’s. Vinny lied about his age so he could be a longshoremen ILWU 500 in 1977 at the young age of 15. His determination and pride as a union member until the day he retired in 2020. He loved the BC Lions. Vinny enjoyed watching his favourite crime solving shows like NCIS and horror movies alongside his black and white cat Cedric, who followed him everywhere. He will best be remembered for his big laugh and huge smile always on his face which made it easy for people to gravitate towards him. Vinny made friends everywhere he went. Vinny was the best dad! He was so attentive, compassionate, and a great listener. He raised his children with the same good teachings. His was best friends with daughter and will always remain in her heart.

Vinny is survived by his children Tiffany Marie Point, Genesis Charles Point; grandchildren Daytona Bob, Avery Bob; siblings Valentina Jean Brooks, Vanesse Jean Point, Vanetta Jean George, Victor Clifford Point, Rowena De Marco and many loving relatives and dear friends.
