Born on August 12, 1941, in Victoria, BC, Violet was a cherished mother to Cindy (Ross), Angela (Glen), and Trevor (Melody) and a proud nana to her grandchildren, Catrina, Trent, Cordel, Aaron, Elizabeth, Tyler, Ava, and Bianca, as well as her many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she loved so dearly. She was predeceased by her dear husband Harry, loving parents, Sidney and Gwendolyn Jaggers, and her precious great-granddaughter, Kianna.
Violet grew up in the same neighbourhood in East Vancouver where she lived out the last of her days. She attended Brock Elementary and King Edward High School in Vancouver before settling in North Vancouver as an adult. She enjoyed working as a bookkeeper for many years before her retirement. Violet was an avid traveller, visiting many countries and exploring cultures throughout the world. She was a kind and caring soul who loved to spend time with her family and gave back to her community as a volunteer at Lions Gate Hospital for many years.
Violet’s sweet smile, gentle nature, kind heart and subtle sense of humour will be missed dearly by all those that knew and loved her. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible staff at Vancouver General Hospital for the care and support during Violet’s final days.
A Celebration of Life with family and close friends will be held in the near future after she is laid to rest with her parents at Mountain View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a small donation to Vancouver Children’s Hospital in memory of her great-granddaughter Kianna would be a lovely way to honour Violet’s legacy as a proud nana and great-grandmother.
