So sorry to hear of  Mr. Rands passing. He was simply the best teacher I ever had, excelled under his guidance and I have nothing but great memories of being in his class. “ remember Rob it’s not all black and white. “ loved the man. 

I only just now learned of Mr Rand’s death. He was my graphics teacher in high school. I’ve become a film photography hobbyist in the past few years and only developed my first rolls of film during this period yesterday. It was while posting about my exploits that I got to chatting with a former classmate who informed me of Mr Rands passing. He was a favourite teacher and very inspirational. I’ve thought about him often while relearning photography. May he rest in peace. 

So sorry to Mr. Rands family. Just learned of his passing. I was one of his many students that was deeply impacted by his teachings. Now at 66 I still have great memories of him not only as a teacher of graphics but a teacher of life. As a young man he taught me to think out of the box . Although I never pursued a career in graphics his teachings have stayed with me my entire life, one of the best. 

Words can not describe the passion Uncle Wally had for life. My fondest memories were of him singing and playing the guitar to my brother Doug and I. Uncle Wally was an amazing runner and was ahead of the curve on this now popular sport. He inspired me to pursue running and every time I buy a new pair of running shoes, I think back to his shoe maker customized North Star running shoes. He is deeply missed.

Mr. Rand introduced generations of students to "Scotch McTape."  Fun aside, he was a master teacher.

I have very fond memories of Uncle Wally. He had a zest for life and I always enjoyed spending time with him. He was one of those special people that was interested in others and valued learning. He showed interest in what I was doing and I loved reconnecting at our many Christmas Eve parties held at my parent's home. It was a struggle for him at the end, but the memory I hold onto is my vibrant Uncle Wally. My love to Auntie Margie, Carol, and Brian.

I will remember Uncle Wally as an outgoing, loving member of my family. I always looked forward to seeing him at family gatherings as he was always smiling and making jokes. He will be missed a lot. Best wishes to Carol, Auntie Margie and the rest of his family.

Mr. Rand, it's been so long ago. Way back in the 70's/80's, I still remember you, wearing your baseball hat, always doing some kind of project you been working on. Either in your basement or outside in your backyard. While we girls were busy playing (Carol and I were just young kids)  I still remember you peeking your head out with your baseball hat, to check on us riding our bikes down the lane, Lastly, when you drive, you always wave when you see me and I Waved back.  You are not forgotten.
