After leaving Northern Ireland in 1970, he made Canada his second home, working hard in his trade as carpenter.
Tom will be remembered for his passion of football (soccer) and was Manchester United's #1 fan.
Since his formative years at Loughall Football Club he continued coaching and playing in his favourite sport well into his 60's.
His love of travel took him to all corners of the world, making lifelong connections and friendships along the way.
At just 73 years old, he was taken from us too soon, but, just as in life, he showed strength and resilience to the very end.
In addition to his family in Northern Ireland, his brother Wilson and wife Joy, his sister Evelyn and husband Billy, his niece Kyla (Robert), his nephews Richard (Rachel), Clive (Jennifer), Alastair (Cheryl), Nigel (Lauren), Philip (Gillian), and his 5 great nieces as well as 13 great nephews, he leaves behind his partner Maggie, her sons Simon and Rick (Amy) and grandson Felix.
A celebration of life is planned and will be posted on this website once a date is finalized.
