William Yat-Lim Lau

Lau Yat Lim was born 03 December 1935, 4th child of Lau Kwan and Ho Sin Kwan in the village of Shek Kei, Zhong Shan, Guangdong Province China. He passed away on Tuesday May 21, 2024 at the Vancouver General Hospital. Yat Lim graduated with the class of 1956 from King’s College, Hong Kong. The Lau family emigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1968. Yat Lim was an accountant and worked for the Government of British Columbia as a provincial auditor before finishing his career with the Vancouver Parks Board. His retirement was filled with travel, volunteering at the Vancouver Airport, and spending time with family and friends. His last 3 years were spent at the Shannon Oaks Seniors’ Independent Living Facility where he reunited with some of his King’s College classmates.

Yat Lim (William) is survived by his wife of 62 years, Po Chi (Agnes), 2 children Harold and Janet, and six grandchildren: Connor, Hannah, Walker, Zachary, Aidan, and Isabel. In his memory, a charitable donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
