Wing Fai Lau

Vancouver General Hospital.

Wing Fai was born on February 3, 1928, in Guangzhou, China and moved to Hong Kong in his early 20’s. He dedicated 40 years working as an accountant at Jardine Matheson,while also serving and protecting the general public as a member of the auxiliary policeforce. In 1996, he immigrated to Vancouver, Canada alongside loved ones to enjoy his life of retirement. In between, Wing Fai loved to share congee and cheung fun with family and friends, or partake in a competitive round of ping pong. His playful personality

characterised him as a “young man”, a phrase he often used and will always embody. His warmth and positivity touched the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.

Wing Fai will be lovingly remembered by his wife Yiu Yok King; two sons and their wives, Alan and Kit Lau, Cary and Christine Lau; and daughter and her husband, Iris Lau and Joe Ng. He is also survived by a multigenerational lineage of seven grandchildren and their spouses, Margo and Niki, Joanne and Chris, Fiona, Andre and Mary, Carmen and Alex, Mindy and Joe, Alisha and Steven; five great grandchildren, Harper, Natalie, Declan, Javen, and Megan; as well as brothers, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

The family is sincerely grateful to the staff of the Vancouver General Hospital for their care of Wing Fai and their gracious support given to the family. As wished by Wing Fai, a private funeral ceremony will be held for family members only. 慈父於1928年2月3日在中國廣州出生。20多歲時，他遷往中國香港居住和組織家庭。他在怡

和洋行從事會計共40年。同期，他投身警隊成為輔警，致力為社會服務。退休後，他與家人於

1996年一同定居加拿大溫哥華，並安享晚年。

A visitation for Wing will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, 5390 Fraser Street, Vancouver, BC V5W2Z1.
