On November 14, 2025, Wan Wing Chiu of Vancouver, British Columbia passed away peacefully at the age of 88. Born in Shunde, Guangdong, Wing’s life was defined by perseverance, dedication, and an unwavering devotion to his family.
As a young man, Wing left Shunde in search of new opportunities, first arriving in Hong Kong before travelling to Vietnam, where he operated a garment factory. With perseverance and an entrepreneurial spirit, he later returned to Hong Kong to establish his own garment factory. Despite the success he built, his greatest priority was always his children’s future. In 1989, he once again chose sacrifice over comfort and immigrated with his family to Vancouver, Canada, starting anew so the next generation could flourish.
Wing’s life was a testament to resilience, a man of quiet strength— a perfectionist with a gentle heart, known for his calmness, patience, and deep kindness. He found joy in the simple beauty of life: tending to his garden, practicing Chinese calligraphy and dancing with his life partner at dinner halls.
He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, his four children, and eight cherished grandchildren, all of whom carry forward his values and his love.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
