Mark Allen Shannon

Mark grew up in Beaverton where he attended Park Rose and Beaverton schools K-9 and graduated from Catlin Gabel Schools. He attended Wentworth College then moved to New York to attend acting school for 2 years. Eventually he completed an associate’s degree in massage therapy at Swedish Hospital and a Bachelor’s degree in Holistic Medicine.

All of his life, Mark had a love for acting. Even while working other jobs to make a living he continued to act as often as he could. He was a great character actor and worked many different kinds of roles. He had both his SAG and Equity cards. For the last 10 years, Mark has lived in Phoenix working his day job as a massage therapist and acting in plays and musicals. Just recently Mark went back to school to study interior design and was working with a contractor designing kitchen and bath remodels.

Mark is survived by his mother, Linda Springer; brother, Nathan Springer; step-father of 11 years, Jon Springer; and aunts, uncles and many cousins.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be held Saturday, September 27th from 1:30-4:00pm at his mother, Linda Springer’s home in Beaverton, Oregon. Private interment will be at Skyline Memorial Gardens, Portland.
