

Mary grew up in Portland. When she was in her senior year of high school she was forced to drop out because she contracted polio. She was eventually able to overcome the disease. In 1970, Mary married the love of her life, Ray, in Vancouver.
In her spare time Mary enjoyed singing, playing piano and spending time at the beach. While at the beach, she loved to sunbathe. Her favorite hobby was shopping at Goodwill. Her family knew her as “Queen of the thrift stores”.
Mary is survived by her husband, of 45 years, Ray; children, Pamela (Daniel) Dehnhoff, Patty (Earl) Harper, Malinda (Robert) Johnson, John (Arlene) Bottorf, Sherie Henry, Shellie Jones and Robert Curran; sister, Carol Vergeer; 21 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brother, James Brookins and son-in-law, Bob Henry.
A memorial service for Mary will be held at a later date.
