

NOLAN, Mary Margarette Passed away on September 6, 2016. Mary was born August 10, 1928 in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts to her parents, John & Nora (Smith) Kelleher, the eldest daughter and sister to John “Jack” Kelleher. She is survived by her three children, Marybeth (Michael) Waters, Nancy (Brian) Mueller and Edward C. Nolan, Jr. "Ted" (Laura Allen). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Briana McLoud (Jason), John (Tami) Waters, Thomas Waters and McCallister Gayle; Great-grandchildren Rowan and Ella McLoud; sister-in-law, Miriam Kelleher Donohue and many nieces and nephews on the East and West coasts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; parents, and brother, Jack Kelleher of Braintree, Massachusetts. Mary attended Saint Thomas Aquinas High School and after graduation enrolled in Chandler School for Woman. She studied to be a medical secretary. Mary met her husband Edward at a dance at the Boston City Club and they married in 1950, remaining devoted to each other for the rest of their 65 years together. She and Edward spent their retirement years in Vancouver. Mary volunteered at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, enjoyed her family, friends and entertaining. She was also an avid reader and thoroughly enjoyed gardening. Mary and Ed spent many years traveling domestically and abroad. They both shared love of boating and especially sailing San Francisco Bay in their Cal-29 sailboat. A funeral mass to celebrate her life will be Wednesday Sept 14, 2016 at 11:00 am, St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 6600 Highland Dr. Vancouver, WA. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic School Scholarship Fund.
