

Growing up in Portland, Vernold attended and graduated from Park Rose High School. Following his school career, he served his country in the Army. Most of his working years were spent as a custodian with the Vancouver Public Schools, from which he retired in 2015.
Vernold loved old cars, but the Mustang had a special place in his heart. He enjoyed going to car shows and collected model cars. He was a quiet man who rarely wanted to be the center of attention.
Vernold is survived by his wife of 48 Years, Clarice; son, Jason (Trina Black) Hunt; grandchildren, Nicole and Brittany; sister, Jan Thayer; and one grandchild. He is preceded in death by his son, Joey Hunt.
A memorial service for Vernold will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 9th in Vancouver. Please contact the family for the location.
