Daughter of Richard F. Kay and the late Anne M. Golden Kay, she was born May 23, 1956 in Niagara Falls, NY.
She received her early education in Honesdale, PA and continued her collegiate studies at Edinboro State College and West Chester State College. She was most proud of having graduated with honors from Southwest Florida College with an AS degree in Health Information Management.
Most of Bridget’s childhood and teen years were spent growing up in Honesdale, PA. As an adult she spent many years in Lexington KY and then, eventually, Englewood, FL. Bridget enjoyed sports. Penn State Football, Kentucky Wildcat basketball and of course, Boston Red Sox baseball all brought her many joyful moments. It was not until 2004 that she finally forgave her father for raising her to be a Sox fan.
Bridget’s faith was always an important part of her life. She practiced her Catholic faith throughout her life and continuously strove to answer Jesus’ command to “love one another as I have loved you”. She was bright, witty, funny and could be cantankerous. The clever use of her vocabulary will be missed as well as her razor-sharp sense of humor.
Survivors include her father, Richard F. Kay of Englewood, FL; two brothers, Wendell R. and wife Karen of Honesdale, PA and Byron T. of Venice, FL; three sisters, Patricia M. Kay and husband Robert Przywieczerski of Hagerstown, MD, Kelly M. She was predeceased by her mother, Anne Marie Kay of Englewood, Fl.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Raphael Catholic Church in Englewood, Florida on Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11:00 am. Reverend Robert Murphy will officiate.
