

Carole was born on January 25, 1942, in Rochester, New York, to Ellsworth and Helene (Conte) Richards, who preceded her in death. She later made her home in Englewood, Florida, where she spent many meaningful years.
Carole enjoyed a long and successful career with Bank of America, where she worked in Venice, Florida, for 40 years. Following her retirement, she embraced her creativity, enjoying crafting as a scroll saw artist and working part-time with Hallmark.
She had a deep compassion for animals and felt a special calling to rescue greyhounds, caring for several throughout her lifetime. Carole was known for her kind heart, creative spirit, and devotion to those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene F. “Pete” Peterson, her parents Ellsworth and Helene Richards, and her brother E. Louis Richards.
Carole is survived by her cherished greyhounds, Cinderella and Sister, her whippet Sophie, as well as many loving friends and colleagues who will miss her greatly.
A Mass will be held at St. Raphael Catholic Church, followed by interment at Gulf Pines Memorial Park at a later date.
