Charlie was born on February 23, 1935, to Gregory and Victoria Varjian, and was raised in Franklin, Massachusetts. He attended Boston University, where he earned his master’s degree in education. Following his studies, he proudly served in the United States Army before marrying the love of his life, Marcia, in 1958 and starting a family.
Charlie was deeply passionate about his career in education and truly loved all 37 years he devoted to it. Above all, he was most proud of his family—his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved them fiercely and wholeheartedly.
Charlie was known for his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to make people laugh. Always joking with friends and family, he was always the life of the party.
Charlie loved the beach and the water, and many cherished memories were made with family and friends boating on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire, attending beach parties on Cape Cod, and taking long swims—no matter how cold the water!
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marcia; his children Lisa Fell and her husband Steve, Gregg Varjian and his wife Jane, Chris Varjian and his wife Maureen, and Jaime Goldberg and her husband Andrew; as well as eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A service will be planned for June. Please contact the family for details.
