Christine M. Lund

August 31, 1949 – September 21, 2020

Englewood, Florida—On September 21st Chris lost her years’ long battle with cancer. Chris was born in St. Louis, MO to George and Edwina Lund. Chris was married and had one son, William “Billy” Wilke, who preceded her in death. Her parents, George and Edwina Lund, of Ypsilanti, MI, Aunt Marie Long of St. Louis, MO and Uncle Patrick Berger of St. Louis, MO, also preceded Chris in death. She is survived by her loving brothers Thomas Lund of Englewood, FL, Mark Lund of Milan, MI, John Lund of Grosse Point, MI, Mike Lund of Ypsilanti, MI, Aunt Carol Berger of St Louis, MO, as well as her Uncle Tom Long and family of St. Louis MO.

Chris attended Ypsilanti’s St. John’s Parish School through the 8thth grade and then transferred to Roosevelt High School on the campus of Eastern Michigan University. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1967 and went to Washtenaw Community College for training in radiology technology. She moved to St. Louis where she became a radiology technician and raised her son Billie. Billie unfortunately passed away in a tragic traffic accident when he was young man. Chris eventually retired in Florida, first living in Boynton Beach before moving to Englewood. Many of Chris’ high school friends remember her as a vivacious, determined-to-succeed, spunky gal. She was the girl with the “welcoming smile.” Chris was a person you could confide in, and she kept your secrets. She was loyal to friends and family alike and always had a kind word for everyone. Chris was a beautiful woman, inside and out. Her eyes sparkled showing a love of life, a genuine interest in others and an appreciation for the goodness we each have to offer. All who have known and loved her will miss Chris, but at least her earthly suffering is over.

Due to the COVID quarantine there will be no memorial in Englewood at this time. Chris will be buried in St Louis MO and a Mass will be held there in her honor.
