
and Orrilla Eva Johnson. She was married three times and had three daughters.
Donna lived in Groton until moving to Hattiesburg, MS where her father was stationed during
World War II . It was there that she met her first husband, Donald Allen Gill.
In 1953 she married her second husband, Joseph Edward Michael Mescall, Jr. with whom she
had her three daughters.
Moving to Lackawanna, NY around 1955, she attended Buffalo State College for four years
graduating in June 1966 . Soon after, she became an elementary school teacher in the
Lackawanna school system where she was Secretary of Lackawanna teachers association.
Never one to stay in one place too long, Donna’s family made several moves around the area
south of Buffalo, NY, and every summer the family would pack up and move to a cottage in
Hanford Bay, NY on Lake Erie.
After retirement, Donna moved to Ft.
Lauderdale, FL where she met and married her third husband, Raymond Curtis Cole, remaining
happily married until his death in 2014.
Surviving are her daughters, Virginia McNamara(Dennis), Susan Mescall Ritson, and Jeanne
Mescall Green; grandchildren Kate McNamara Haas, Beth Hine (Jay), Joel Marcey (Catherine )
and Robert Green. She has one surviving brother, Robert Killilea Coolbaugh of Waleska, GA.
Additionally she has several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death
besides her parents are her husband, Joseph (Sep 1979), her husband, Raymond (Feb 2014)
and her older sister Marjorie Warren of Waterloo, NY. (Dec 2021).
Donna passed peacefully on March 25. Always a generous person to friends and family, she
lived a full and happy life.
