Dorothy Mae Whalen Latouche, born in Lebanon, NH, on November 9, 1938, passed away peacefully at home in Florida on October 9, 2025, surrounded by three generations of her beloved family.
Daughter of Charles and Marion Whalen, Dorothy was lovingly raised by her stepmother, Faith. She graduated from Towle High School in Newport, NH, in 1957. In 1959, she married the love of her life, Roger Alphonse Latouche. Their 66-year marriage was a beautiful testament to lifelong love, partnership, and devotion.
Dorothy and Roger raised their family in Claremont, NH, and later made their home in Florida. Dorothy found great joy in dancing with her husband, figure skating, embroidery, and—above all—spending treasured time with her family. Sundays and holidays were always filled with warmth, laughter, and love as she actively shared in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her loving husband, Roger; her children Suzette and Stephen, Sharon and Peter, Sharlene and Darrin; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
She was predeceased by Charlie and Gene, her parents and stepmother, and several in-laws and extended family members who now welcome her home.
A graveside service will be held in Claremont, NH, at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family kindly requests that donations be made to your local Hospice organization, in honor of Dorothy’s peaceful transition and the compassionate care she received.
