Hello family and friends, sadly, our dad has passed away this weekend. He went home Saturday November 7th in the year of our Lord! Because of the current circumstances we will not be having services at this time. When we can get all the family together we will celebrate his life on his beach ...his way!
He was born on the island of Jamaica, a British colony at the time, to an American mother & British Father. In the 1950s they moved to Hialeah/Miami where he joined the Air Force Reserves and in the 1959 he joined the city Miami Police Department where he was a police officer for 23 years. He saw it all!! The stories he could tell! I tried to encourage him to write a book and the first thing he said “do you want to get me killed?” 😂 mom and dad moved us to Englewood in the mid-70s to get out of the crazy times of Miami during that era. But he said, to the very end, the best decision he ever made was to move us to this little beautiful town of Englewood. He saw the friendships we had, deep ties and life experiences and he was so at peace with that move as he loved his little house & fishing on our Beach! He retired from Miami and immediately became a sheriff deputy in Charlotte County. He so enjoyed sitting outside and talking to everyone that could stop and chit chat! Thank you all for taking the time when you could!
He spent his life protecting and serving his country, community & family and we are forever grateful for his sacrifices & love!
