

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hinrich F. Janssen, lovingly known as Henry on September 30, 2023 at Englewood Community Hospital surrounded by his family. Hinrich was born on December 22, 1933 in Modoga, Lower Saxony, Germany.
Hinrich came to the United States in 1956 and served in the U.S.Army at Ft. Benning, Georgia, from 1959 to 1961. He was honorably discharged. He became a U.S. citizen in 1963.
He was an avid soccer player in Germany and continued playing soccer in the United States until the age of 30.
Hinrich met Violet Krebs in 1962 at the White Plains, New York, Oktoberfest. They were married on June 15, 1963 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Croton-on-Hudson, New York.
Hinrich was a man of practicality, dedicating his life to the art of cabinet making and building. With his skilled hands and attention to detail as a self-employed master cabinet maker/builder he brought beauty and functionality to the homes of many, including building two of his own homes in Ossining, New York, before retiring to Englewood, Florida, in 1996.
Hinrich was a man who embraced the values of hard work, duty, and love. His memory will forever be etched in our hearts and his presence will be deeply missed. May he find eternal peace and rest in the hands of the Lord.
He shared a devoted love and laughter with his wife, Violet over 60 years. A love that stood the test of time. Though he has departed this world, the memories they shared will forever be treasured.
He enjoyed family, friends, traveling to five continents of the world, including 40 cruises, bowling, playing cards, and watching soccer
He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings in Germany. He is survived by his wife, Violet, one brother, Wilhelm Janssen and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Kay-Pongers Funeral Home and Gulf View Pines Memorial Park, in Englewood, Florida.
Interment will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
