Irene was born in August 1934 in Richford, VT to Aldis and Grace McAllister. She was married to John J. Diamond Jr. in October of 1951 in Windsor, VT. They lived in Walpole, MA before moving their growing family to Bellingham, MA, then to Groton, CT and later to Uncasville, CT where they raised their 9 children.
They retired to Florida in 2011.
Irene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her 9 children. Kathleen and Ace Edge, Janet and Jim LaBrie, Donald and Darlene Diamond, Diane and Cole Wilson, John and Stephen Wiles, Karen and Peter Orbe, Ellen and Stephen Lyons, Pamela and Todd Ratnecht and Mark Diamond. She leaves 17 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a great great grandson and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a brother Glen and Ruth McAllister and a sister Arlene Gurney.
She is predeceased by her husband, John J. Diamond Jr., a daughter, Carol Ann, 5 grandchildren, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
She is and will be forever missed by all those who loved her.
