

Jim was a proud U.S. Air Force Veteran having served as an Air Police Supervisor and member of the Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery during the Vietnam War. His love of the American flag was ultimate, and he would become upset when someone disrespected the flag.
His career was varied, having held two jobs for most of his life. Jim was a Business Analyst for I.B.M., MetLife, United Healthcare and Operations Manager - Receiving for Macys Edison N.J. working evenings for over 45 years.
Jims’s love of cars, planes, and motorcycles was evident, as he was President of Star Touring and Riding Motorcycle Club Chapter 118 with the handle of “Taz” enjoying many adventures over the years with the guys and gals. He also had a pilot’s license in his earlier days, and he collected a treasure trove of classic cars spending weekends exhibiting at car shows.
Now he’s up in heaven listening to Elvis Presley and flashing his “baby blues’’ at Marilyn Monroe while watching an endless stream of James Bond movies.
Jim was predeceased by his father Michael Geleta and mother Theresa. Also, his favorite cousin Thomas Galeta.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years Barbara, daughters Melanie Sheaf (Charles) and Jaime Alte (Jeffrey II), son Justin Geleta (John), stepdaughter Dawn Paruta (Jack) and grandchildren Gavyn, Dylan, and Jeffrey III Alte, Austin, Logan, Gavin and Colton Sheaf, and Lucy, Nick, Will and Maggie Paruta.
A Celebration of Life will be held in New Jersey at a date to be determined.
