KC, as he was known to most, was the beloved husband of Charlotte JoAnn Clement, whom he married in Livonia, Michigan on June 18, 1983.
KC was born on September 21, 1951, to the late Hector and Regina Clement in Detroit, Michigan. Also, preceding him in death was his brother, Paul Clement (Priscilla) and his beloved grandson, Brennen Smith (1990-2011).
At the early age of 19, he was drafted into the United States Air Force, where he served as a medic in Vietnam until his discharge in 1971, because he was wounded.
He moved to Englewood in 1985 with his wife and proceeded to do various jobs with Charlotte County Government and Charlotte County Schools.
His love of fishing gave him many hours of pleasure, along with his love of classic and antique cars. He was also involved with running the kids in-line hockey program through the Charlotte County Parks and Recreation as well as teaching fishing to kids.
He was a landscaper for the City of Sarasota and later was involved in starting a skate park for the city.
His kind and openly generous nature gained him many friends and people that remembered meeting him throughout his 37 years in Englewood, FL. As some have said about him, “He never met a stranger”.
He also worked as a DJ during his spare time, and met many people during his 25 years providing music for events throughout the surrounding areas. He will be missed by many that have crossed his path in life, as well as his family that he loved more than anything.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Charlotte JoAnn Clement; his sister Karen Wion (Mike), Commerce Twp., MI; his daughters Shellie Smith (Gene) of South Lyon, MI, and Lisa Wilson (Don) of Englewood, FL; nieces Rachel Bow (Andy) of Commerce Twp., MI, and Lauren Wion of N. Miami, FL, and Kimberly; nephew Travis; grandchildren, Donald Wilson (Amber), Alex Wilson, Cayman Wilson; and great grandchildren Hannah, Riley, Bella, and Ava. He was awaiting the birth of his grandnephew, Adian Michael Bow, but never got to see him since he was born on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
A celebration of life will be announced by the family at a later date.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.lemonbayfh.com for the Clement family.
