
Marlene Middendorf passed away peacefully on June 21, 2021 after an illness. Marlene was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Marlene was a devoted mother who stayed home to focus on raising her children. Her passion and life’s work was dedicated to working with pet owners to obedience train their dogs. Over a twenty-five year period, Marlene held various director training positions and also established her own dog training business. With her first dog Sam, she earned a Companion Dog and Companion Dog Excellence Degree in dog obedience trial shows in the United States and in Canada. Marlene later was interested in breed showing, became a very accomplished groomer of Wire Fox Terriers, and was proud of the American Kennel Club Championships that twelve of her own Fox Terriers earned in the show ring. Marlene was instrumental in promoting dog shows in Corpus Christi, Texas, holding the position of President and other board positions for several years with the Corpus Christi Kennel Club. She was an active volunteer at Spohn Hospital of Corpus Christi for many years. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Middendorf, and is survived by her two daughters, Lorri A. Masse (Patrick) and Debbie Middendorf; grandchildren, Rebecca Whitehead, Jacquelyn and Zachary Masse. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, August 6, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lourdes Catholic Church in Venice, Florida.
