

Born on February 12, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, Rick spent his early years on Anna Maria Island, Florida, where he developed a lifelong love for the outdoors. He eventually settled in Englewood, Florida, where he built a life rooted in family, hard work, and his many passions.
Rick was predeceased by his parents, June and Dick Connick, and his beloved son, Todd Connick.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara; his children, Dawn Brown, Trisha Nolan (Ed), Ricky Connick (Erica), and Angel Connick; and his siblings, Jeanne Thompson (Dale) and Sherry Connick. He was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Rick also leaves behind extended family including in-laws, and many loving nieces and nephews who will remember his warmth and humor.
Rick had a zest for life and a wide range of interests. He enjoyed boating, fishing, woodworking, cooking, and had a deep appreciation for westerns, firearms, and archery. A true dog lover, Rick adored his Border Collies and is survived by his two loyal companions, Sissy and Carly (affectionately known as Missy Car).
He will be remembered for his strong spirit, his love of family, and the joy he brought to those around him. Rick’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Kay’s-Ponger, Uselton & Lemon Bay Funeral Home, located at 1935 S. Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL 34293. A viewing will take place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a prayer service led by Deacon Bob of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. A lunch reception will follow the service.
