Robert was born in New London, CT to Anthony Albino and Angeline Ronna Albino
on October 31, 1940. He grew up in Waterford, CT and graduated from New
London High School in 1958. He worked with his father in the family business
named BLine Transportation Trucking Company in Waterford, CT since he was 12
years old. His family was also part owner of the Waterford Speed Bowl where
Robert was involved with until his family sold the racetrack. He then worked as a
truck driver for Connecticut Paper Board until he moved with his wife and
daughter to Englewood, Florida in 1986. He worked for Tri-County Trucking for
over 20 years as a foreman, then finished his working years driving dump trucks
for DeYoung Trucking.
His favorite times in life were spending Summers at Rogers Lake in Old Lyme, CT
at the lake cottage his father bought in 1945. Here he enjoyed spending time
with many friends and family fishing, cook out, boating, and water skiing. Robert
also enjoyed being in a motorcycle club, vacations with family and friends, and
watching his children and grandchildren play sports and race motorcycles.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Jean Iannantuono Albino; his
children Brian Albino, Michael Vendetto, Laureen Vendetto (Ken Hynes), Robert
Albino Jr., and Colleen Albino Gielow (Cliff); his grandchildren David Harris
(Brooklyn), Kyle Harris, Samantha Albino, Brandon Gielow, Colby Gielow and Mary
Hynes, and Brooke Vendetto; his great grandchildren Addalyn and Eliana Harris; his niece Laura Dean
Frazier (Harland) and nephew Paul Dean; his Aunt Grace Lusa and many members
of the Lusa, Scalia, and Sabilia families in CT.
He is preceded in death by his father Anthony Albino, mother Angeline Ronna
Albino and sister Gail Albino Winter (Keith).
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, July 31 from 2:00 -3:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life starting at 3:00 p.m. at Lemon Bay Funeral Home of Englewood.
