Sandy passed away on February 3, 2026, one day after her 66th birthday, with her family by her side.
Originally from the Northeast, Sandy and Frank relocated from DFW to the Englewood area six years ago to stay close to her daughter and grandchildren.
If you knew Sandy, you knew she was at the beach where she was hanging out or collecting shells. Whether it was with friends or with her grandchildren, she loved being by the water. She often spent her weekends taking Jason, Joshua, and Sydney to the pool. In the evenings she was an avid football fan who loved heckling anyone within earshot during games—or even by text leading up to big games—but really it was just an excuse to spend time with the people she loved.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Frank Hannig; her son Eric Keckler, her daughter Leah (Blake Waddill); her grandchildren Jason (19), Joshua (15), and Sydney (12); and her brothers, 'Chip' Brinton Nace and Christopher Nace. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held on the afternoon of March 7th at 2560 Beach Road, Englewood, FL 34295.
