

Warren “Ed” Edwin Smith, 79 of Englewood, Florida passed away unexpectedly on April 19th, 2026 at his home. Warren married the love of his life (his first wife) Linda (Sue) on March 22, 1967 & they shared 59 glorious years together. In his adult years, he was active in prayer & marriage ministry. Ed loved his job of Water Department Superintendent for the City of Maumee, Ohio for 15 years. He was also the village administrator of Delta, OH for many years. He retired to the Florida Keys and there he became active in The Keys Vineyard Church, where he was asked to be assistant headmaster of the school and also served as assistant pastor.
Ed’s favorite pastime after retirement was spending time on their boat, fishing in the Keys. In later years, he looked forward to travel adventures and enjoyed 19 cruises with his wife. They also traveled to England, Scotland and Sweden for their 50th Anniversary.
He was a proud US Army, Vietnam Veteran and a lifelong member of the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Smith (Proudfoot), his precious dog, Gracie, Son, Christopher (Danielle) Smith of Port Charlotte, Fl., Daughter, Heather (Jeff) Snow of Walbridge, Oh. He had 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Warren was passionate about his love for Jesus, which gives his family comfort in the time of such immense loss.
In honor of his service to his Lord JESUS Christ and the U.S Armed forces, we will be doing a celebration of life at the VFW Post 10178
