Francy was born on July 31, 1962, in Brooksville, Florida and moved to California when she was a young child. She was a resident of Ventura for six years after moving here from Van Nuys, CA. Francy was a long time resident of the San Fernando Valley prior to moving to Ventura.
She held several occupations during her lifetime including owner and manager of a florist business, mortgage consultant, voice-over director and artist and Yoga instructor.
Francy attended New Life Church in Oxnard, CA and Missionary Church in Ventura, CA and was baptized into the Christian faith.
She was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and had over 20 years of sobriety. Always willing to be of service, her determination and commitment to the program was a great example to others. She had many friends in the program and maintained many long time friendships.
Francy loved all animals and especially spending time with her pets. She had several cats and dogs that she had rescued over her lifetime and she cherished all of them.
Francy practiced Yoga for many years and maintained a healthy lifestyle prior to her illness. She also enjoyed reading books and going to the movies.
Francy had a tremendous sense of humor, a great smile and could always make people laugh. Francy was a very loving person, compassionate and she stood against injustice wherever she saw it happening around her.
She fought her battle against cancer as hard as anyone has ever fought it. Francy never gave up hope in her fight to the very end. A week before she passed away, when the Doctors' told her that there was nothing else they could do for her, she said, "I feel like I should just give up...but that's just not me.” Francy was courageous, brave and resilient through all the treatment, the medications, the side effects and all the pain and suffering caused from the cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Steve. They had been together for nearly 10 years. She is also survived by her beloved stepson, Camden; her sisters Valaurie Ventimiglia of Huntington Beach, CA and Sheryl Jo Bedal of Ventura, CA.
Francy loved the ocean and visits to the beach and especially trips to Santa Barbara, CA. It was her wish for her remains to be scattered in the ocean off the coast of Santa Barbara near Butterfly Beach, a place that she loved to visit with her husband.
She is in Heaven now with the Lord and at peace. We love you and miss you Francy.
