

Carmen Tarin, 87, passed away at her home in Ventura, CA, on Saturday, September 12, 2015. She was born and raised in Santa Paula, moving to Ventura after marrying John Tarin, also living in the Glendale area for some time before moving back to Ventura.
Carmen began working for the Ventura Unified School District as a noon aide, which later led to her other positions of instructional assistant and office assistant for 25 years. She and John were members of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ventura, participated in many of the senior activities, and were often seen ushering or greeting at church services. They also belonged to the Elks Club where Carmen was a member of their Emblem Club.
Throughout their years together they enjoyed bowling, camping, trips to Las Vegas, and spending time with family and friends.
Carmen and John were married for 58 years until his passing in 2013.
Carmen is survived by her daughters, Annette Tarin of Ventura, and Anna Kittleson with her husband Kris of Ventura; granddaughters Kayla Kittleson of Ventura, and Ariana Kittleson Brown with her husband Justin of New Mexico; great grandchildren, Drake Brown, Charlene Brown, and Piper Brown of New Mexico; sisters in law, Mary Lou Roberts, and Alice Tarin; brother in law, Hector Tarin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Carmen’s loving caregivers Valerie Gray, Barbara Spivey, and especially her granddaughter Kayla Kittleson. And, a special thank you to Roze Room Hospice for their care.
In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association in Carmen’s name.
