David graduated to heaven with his favorite music playing and his family ever present, surrounded by prayer and great love.
Born and raised in Dearborn Michigan, he attended the Detroit Conservatory of Music, Wayne State Univ. and Eastern Michigan Univ., earning degrees in choral music and counseling.
Career in sales paled to his passion for music and teaching which provided over 50 years of giving piano lessons, and many opportunities to sing in choirs, chorales, quartets, as an organist and accompanist.
He demonstrated a servants heart as he ministered to the ill and home-bound through the Master's Touch quartet in Sacramento, a leader for engaged couple classes and as a deacon. South Lake Tahoe, Sacramento and finally Ventura brought him more opportunities to serve and teach through Kiwanis and church.
Mustang, Whizzer and scooter clubs were his recreational interest, as well as car and air shows, and space museums.
Committed to continuing to fulfill their dreams of 48 years together, are his wife Karen, and his most precious legacies: son Craig Fetter (Beth), daughters Courtney DeSoto (Dave), and Chanda DelCampo (Fess). And then the real loves of his life: grandson Curt Fetter, granddaughters Ridley and Romy DeSoto and baby girl to-be DelCampo.
His faith, extended family and friends meant the world to him. Recently when he would enter through the front door, he would sing-song, "I'm home". Yes, Dave, you are now forever HOME.
A celebration and remembrance of his life will be held at the Ventura Baptist Church, 5415 Ralston Street, Ventura, at 1:00 pm. on August 23, 2014. Donations may be made in his name to: Ventura Baptist Church, Music Dept./Jubilee Class Ventura Kiwanis Livingston Care Givers of Ventura.
Arrangements under the direction of Charles Carroll Funeral Home, Ventura, CA.
