

Dottie Liesse, 96, died October 11, 2011 in Lihue, Kauai, where she had moved to be close to her children. She had been a resident for the past three years of Kauai and a resident at the Regency at Puakea.
Dottie was born August 2, 1915 in Jenny Lino, Arkansas and had been a resident of Ventura County for 50 years before moving to Kauai.
Dottie was a graduate of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Albuquerque, N.M.; she worked in various hospitals clinics and military clinics for over 50 years as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of Community Presbyterian Church as well as the Women’s Club of Ventura. She enjoyed tap dancing and performed at many local events including the Ventura County Fair.
She was married to her high school sweetheart O.W Liesse. He preceded her in death as well as her son, Ronald Liesse.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law James and Lynda Liesse and their daughter and husband, Jayden and Kevin Callahan, great grandchildren, Corah, Caymen and Cassie all of Anahola, Kauai; grandson, Damon Liesse and wife Sarah and great grandchildren, Dalton and Sophia of Washington; daughter Kaye Cummings of Kapaa, Kauai, and grandsons Scott and Christopher Cummings of California.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012, 2:00 P.M. at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road, Ventura.
Dottie’s ashes will be scattered off the coast of Ventura.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
