Eleanor Rae Kanthack

Eleanor passed away peacefully at her home on February 7, 2018, with her loving family by her side. She was born March 26, 1936, to Lee and Nellie Peck in Burbank, California. She was the youngest of four girls.

Graduating from Burbank High School, Eleanor went on to receive her Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. She was married in 1957 and moved to Ventura with her husband Bob.

Eleanor worked in the Burbank and Ventura School Districts, and went on to be the Executive Secretary to the Manager and Board of Directors of the Ventura County Fair, where she retired in 1987.

She and Bob were members of the Community Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and an Elder. They loved to travel and enjoyed camping with friends and family.

Listening to music, especially Bob’s piano playing was one of Eleanor’s favorite ways to spend time. Concerts and dancing were also activities that both she and Bob enjoyed. Eleanor treasured holiday celebrations with her family and spending time with her friends.

Eleanor is survived by her son, Dennis Kanthack; daughter and son-in-law, Nanci and Keith Kelley; grandchildren, Tristan and Tabitha Kanthack; and many nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was laid to rest with Bob on his birthday, February 13, 2018…together again, forever. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
