Geri was born June 25, 1923 to Frank "Daddy Frank" and Irma "Mama Irma" (Johnson) Morrill in Montalvo, California, where she was raised on Grand Avenue. She attended the old Montalvo Elementary School and was a 1941 graduate of Ventura High School.
On April 10, 1942, she married Wilfred T. Davy Jr. of Ojai, California. She followed her husband during his military service time to Texas, Oklahoma, California and Washington. In 1946 they moved to Leavenworth, Washington and started a "Dude Ranch", which would be known as the Icicle River Ranch and Horse Pack Tours. She could move those horses way up in the back country and then present a fantastic dinner to the guests. From there they moved a short distance to Lake Wenatchee where they managed Lake Wenatchee State Park. Geri retired June 25, 1986 after 28 years of Government Service with the United States Forest Service with many accomplishments under her belt.
After her retirement, Geri and Wilfred returned to Leavenworth and built a beautiful RV Trailer Park, known as The Icicle River Ranch RV Park, which is still very popular for RV groups.
Geri and Wilfred's home, on 33 acres of beautiful land, had horse corrals, deer wandering through the yard, and their house sat at the base of the forest.
In the town of Leavenworth, she was the "Royal Lady of the Autumn Leaves" in 1978. Geri was a member of the chamber of commerce, the Autumn Leaf Festival (held every year in Leavenworth), as well as a member of Our Lady of the Snow's Catholic Church.
When Geri made her move back to Ventura, California in 2005, she moved across the street from her sister, Lorraine Ellis, and they enjoyed each other's company, they truly were the best of friends. Generous Geri was always making cakes, pies and her famous fudge. She loved knitting and creating ceramic pieces that were made and given to everyone.
She was known for her beautiful personality, lovely jewelry, was always dressed ready for a party. She loved all of our family get-togethers. We will truly miss her company.
Geri was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred T. Davy Jr. in 1990. She now leaves behind her sisters, Lorraine Ellis and Elma Benzien; niece, Dena Mercer; nephew, Jim Ellis (wife Diane) all of Ventura, and nephew Tom Ellis (wife Tina) of Prather, CA. She is also survived by many more nephews and nieces. She will be missed by her dear friend of many years, Frankie Brender, extended family Colleen, Terry, Kristen, and Tallie Mattson, and many dear friends from Leavenworth, WA.
We would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Padour and his staff for the excellent care we have received through the years.
