
Mrs. Jensen was born on August 15, 1924, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She graduated from high school in Toledo, Ohio and college at Michigan State University. Jeanne worked for Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan and it was there she married her husband, Norris on September 25, 1947.
They moved to Ventura in 1950 and Jeanne worked for the Star-Free Press and as a teacher’s aide for special education students at Washington Elementary School.
Jeanne was a longtime active member of the First United Methodist Church of Ventura and was an auxiliary volunteer at the Community Memorial Hospital gift shop.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris Jensen in 1999.
Jeanne is survived by her two sons, Chris (Sandy) Jensen of Summerville, South Carolina and David (Maja) Jensen of San Francisco; grandchildren, Hadley Jensen of Summerville, South Carolina, Lindsey (Todd) Kubli of Hilliard, Ohio and Todd (Lindsey) Jensen of Hobe Sound, Florida; and great grandchildren, Sterling and Delaney Jensen. She is also survived by her brother, Pete (Jean) Smith of Brentwood, Tennessee.
To Jeanne friendship meant the world, she was surrounded by caring friends and neighbors who helped her with many tasks and with whom shared many good times. Her sons wish to thank everyone who was so caring and helpful.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 6, 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church of Ventura with the Reverend Charles Simmons officiating. Burial will take place at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, on a later date.
